Helena Maizlin - Artist & Art Instructor

Artist Statment:
You are invited into my world of bright colors and theatrically extravagant characters. My favorite subjects are human forms, as they fascinate me with their endless variations of facial and bodily expressions. I like to think of my characters as actors in a silent but expressive play. I don’t limit myself to one particular medium in exploring how different methods contribute to my vision. My goal is to provoke the viewers’ aesthetic senses with my hyperbolically depicted human forms, bright colors, and pulsating lights.

Art Instruction:
My programs are specially tailored for individual students and groups and my teaching approach ensures that students make significant progress each class. I teach a variety of mediums and have an extensive list of programs, including portrait and life model drawing/painting. I also help prepare students for post-secondary programs in Fine Arts and Animation.
